Course Description

If you want to make the most of your time in Barcelona and improve your Spanish quickly our Spanish Super Intensive Courses are the choice for you. Classroom time of 20 hours a week, four hours a day from 09.30 until 13.30, allows you to progress rapidly (and leaves plenty of time for other activities). Classes are divided by level into small groups of up to a maximum of 6 students. As with all our courses, the classes are dynamic and practical and are taught by native, qualified teachers who will help you to learn all the necessary grammar, vocabulary and key language functions to equip you with the skills you need in real-life situations in a Spanish-speaking environment.

The minimum duration of a Spanish Intensive course is one week, but we recommend a minimum of 4 weeks (80 hours).

Terms and conditions

You will be evaluated in the 4 language skills so that you can see your progress and you will take a final exam at the end of the month, assessing everything you have studied in the course. You will be set weekly homework tasks to complement what you have learnt.

You can complement your course with activities that allow you to practice Spanish in relaxed environments where you will have the opportunity to meet people from around the world.

For example you can participate in our “Spanish Experience” gatherings, to learn more about Spanish culture, improve your speaking and, at the same time, visit places of interest in Barcelona. You can also attend our language exchange events, “Happy Fridays”, which take place once a month in different bars across the city.

If you’re thinking about staying long term in Barcelona, you can do so by applying for a student visa and enrolling in a course that meets the minimum number of required hours of study per week, which is typically 20 hours. At Oxford House, we offer a variety of options to meet this requirement, such as our Spanish or teacher training courses.

With a student visa you can: -Open a bank account, rent a flat in your name, get a mobile phone contract, join a gym, sign up for Bicing (public bicycle system) and more! -Travel freely! Without a student visa you’re only able to stay and travel within the EU for 90 days.

If you choose to study with us, Oxford House will be able to provide you with a letter certifying your enrolment, confirming information such as the course type, dates, and the hours of study per week so that you can start the student visa application process.

Before applying for a student visa, we strongly recommend you review the requirements and conditions at your local Spanish consulate. Oxford House can only certify enrolment in a course once the course fees have been paid for in full, and we are not liable in the case of visas not being granted or delays in the process.
