Level tests

You have to take a placement test at the school before enrolling in any of the following courses: Cambridge or Trinity English courses, English for children between 8 and 17 years, Spanish, French, German or Italian.

We ask that you inform us before coming for your level test. New students can indicate their preferred time to complete the level test in the online registration form.

English Trinity, Spanish, French, German, Italian: Level tests are oral and written and they take approximately 45 minutes.

Cambridge English: The level test has two parts, oral and written, and lasts one hour.

English courses for children and teens:
A level test is required for students between 8 and 17 years old. It is a written only level test and lasts approximately 20 minutes.

 

Reservation of places

English Trinity, English Cambridge, Spanish, French, German, Italian: a place in the course can be reserved by paying 50€ as a deposit.

English courses for children and teens: a place can be reserved by paying 50€ as a deposit.

English 60 and Business 80: No reservation available. You must pay the the complete course fee to secure your place.

 

Payment methods

English 60 and Business 80: Students pay monthly in cash at reception or online with a credit card.

English Trinity or Cambridge, English courses for children and teens, Spanish, French, German and Italian: Students can pay for the entire course in one payment or in 3 installments (Except for Cambridge intensive courses, in this case the student is expected to pay full tuition fees and exam fees when enrolling in the course).

If you choose to pay in installments, the first payment should be made in cash, by cheque, credit card or bank transfer, and all subsequent payments are made by direct debit you’re your bank account or by credit card through our online secure server.

If you choose to pay your tuition by direct debit you’ll be asked to provide your bank details when making first payment. Subsequent payments by direct debit are made between 1-5 January and 1-5 April. If you do not wish to continue your course, you must provide Oxford House with written notice before the dates mentioned above and we will discontinue the direct debit.

Private classes: Students can pay in cash, by credit card, cheque or bank transfer. Subsequent payments by direct debit only. Direct debits will be made between the 1st and 5th each month. If you do not wish to continue with your classes, you must provide Oxford House with written notice before the dates mentioned above and we will discontinue the direct debit.

 

Groups

Minimum number of students per group for Trinity and Cambridge English courses, Spanish, French, German and Italian: 4

Minimum group size for English 60 and Business 80: 15

If the minimum number of students in a group is not reached, we reserve the right to close it with the appropriate refund.

 

Reimbursements

If you make a payment and you cannot attend classes, the amount is not refundable under any circumstances. You can postpone the starting date once (English 60 and Business 80, may be deferred only to the following month; extensive courses, may be postponed to the following term) or transfer your place to someone else, if you let us know that you cannot attend the course before the starting date.

 

English 60 & Business 80

The course can be paid in cash at the school or online by credit card. Places are limited. To secure your place in the course you are advised to make the payment at your earliest convenience. We reserve the right to change students to a different level if there’s a specific need.

 

Private classes

Cancellations: If a class is cancelled with more than 24 hours of notice it may be recovered in the same calendar month. Please notify the TEACHER of cancellations. Classes cancelled with less than 24 hours of notice cannot be recovered.

Changes or discontinuing classes: If you do not wish to continue with your classes or you wish to change the number of hours/month, you must provide Oxford House with written notice before the direct debit occurs between the 1st and 5th of the month and we will discontinue or modify your direct debit accordingly.

 

Carnet Jove discount

10% discount with Carnet JoveThe Carnet Jove (youth card) is a service provided by the Generalitat de Catalunya. Cardholders receive a 10% discount on the following Oxford House language courses:

English 60 and Business 80: -10%

English Trinity or Cambridge, French, German, Italian or Spanish extensive: -10% on a single payment or in one of the installments, if you choose to pay the course in 3 installments.

English Trinity or Cambridge, French, German or Italian Summer: -10% on single payment.

Private classes: -10% on the first payment.

To receive the discount, you must register in the academy, showing your Carnet Jove card in reception upon registering.
