Our Teens Summer Club is full of fun, educational activities for 12-17 year olds. Taking place at Oxford House in the centre of Barcelona, your teens will spend their time in a happy and relaxed environment, practicing English, making friends, and learning about the world around them.
The programme, which is 100% in English, combines engaging topics from a variety of subjects, including history, sport, art, science and music.
Students will also take part in hands on activities and trips to some of Barcelona’s greatest attractions. It’s the perfect way to get them excited about learning English again!
Running from the 25th June until 27th July, your teens can join the programme from one to five weeks. Our timetables – which include mornings, afternoons or full day sessions – are flexible to suit your own busy schedules.
Whether your teen is an adrenaline junkie, crazy about music, or wants to be the next Mark Zuckerberg, with five different themes, there is something for everyone.
Every Wednesday the lessons will come alive during our weekly trip and on Fridays you’ll have the chance to see your child communicating in English at the Presentation Party.
This is not your average history class! In week one, we’ll become adventurers like Lara Croft and Indiana Jones and discover what it was like to live in ancient civilizations with the Incas, the Aztecs and the Egyptians.
During our trip to the Egyptian Museum we will learn about mummification and answer some questions about how and why it was done. We’ll also find out who was lucky enough to be mummified for all eternity!.
It’s back to the future in week two as we look at life in the mega cities, which are slowly taking over the planet. We must put our heads together and help design smart ways to live in the modern world, while protecting the environment and the natural resources which will soon run out.
The excursion will take us to Barcelona’s very own Urban Jungle – Bosc Urbà where we will let off steam before heading back to the school to explore some of the startups in Barcelona which are helping it become one of the world’s smartest cities.
In week three we go from smart to art. With a twist on modern art, we will explore some of the world’s most famous street artists, like Banksy and Keith Haring.
After searching for inspiration around Barcelona and visiting the Miro Museum, we will try and create our own masterpieces for you all to enjoy during our weekly presentations.
This week is all about the bass. We will look into the pros and cons of being a music superstar, plan our own festivals and experience music from all corners of the planet.
Percumusic is the location of this week’s trip. We we will take part in a drumming workshop and perfect the skills needed for Friday’s big talent show, where we will discover if any of our students have the X factor.
Although it’ll be sad to see everyone leave, we can’t wait to take it to the max in week five. We will find out who the adrenaline junkies are, as we explore some of the world’s most extreme sports.
The teens will be put through their paces during the final excursion to Barcelona Skating Club, an ice skating rink, not far from the school.

Trained in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) our specialised teens teachers have what it takes to teach relevant and interesting subjects while supporting learners with their English at the same time.
The reason we love CLIL is that it helps boost students’ confidence when communicating in a second language.
It helps develop students who are ready for the demands of today’s digital and globalised world, where English is king. No matter whether it’s for travel, business, study or pleasure, English remains the world’s most widely spoken second language.
Also, by teaching engaging topics in a fun way, teens are more motivated to learn than they are in traditional grammar based English classes.
There is also a strong focus on the skills which your teens will need in their future lives such as communication, collaboration and critical thinking. They will be encouraged to work together on group projects, while also exploring their creativity.
What’s more, all of our classrooms are equipped with computers, projectors and TVs, allowing the teachers to use authentic videos and bring other interactive media into the classes, which will help motivate them further.
We also believe in cultural diversity and exposing young adults to different beliefs, traditions and views. This is easy as we have teachers and students from all of the world, forcing students to use English as the primary means of communication.
We offer a flexible schedule to suit all needs, with classes in the mornings, afternoons or all day. You’ll be able to say hi to the teacher as you drop your child off from 8.30am
For those staying all day we’ll go for a filling three course meal at Tento, a local restaurant just around the corner from the school, which offers a wide variety of food to choose from.
