We provide participating schools with English teachers, materials and structured courses that are adapted to each school\u2019s schedule and academic needs. Classes are given on location in the primary or secondary school.<\/p>\n<p>Our extracurricular English courses follow a plan of studies integrated with official <a title=\"About Cambridge ESOL\" href=\"\/en\/exams\/cambridge-english-fce-cae-cpe\/\">Cambridge ESOL <\/a> and <a title=\"Trinity GESE English exams\" href=\"\/en\/exams\/trinity-english-exams\/\">Trinity College<\/a> examinations. This means that we can measure students&#8217; progress within a framework recognized internationally.<\/p>\n<div class=\"accordion\" id=\"accordion-13\"><div class=\"accordion-group \"><div class=\"accordion-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle backcolorhover \" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-13\" href=\"#accordion-113\"><i class=\"\"><\/i> Interest Form - Extracurricular language courses in Barcelona schools<\/a><\/div><div id=\"accordion-113\" class=\"accordion-body collapse \"><div class=\"accordion-inner\">\n<ul>\n<li>Make students feel comfortable using English in realistic situations.<\/li>\n<li>Improve spoken communication.<\/li>\n<li>Provide an academic and professional advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Provide an opportunity to obtain a <a href=\"\/exams\/cambridge-english-fce-cae-cpe\/?lang=en\">Cambridge<\/a> or <a href=\"\/exams\/trinity-english\/?lang=en\">Trinity<\/a> English certificate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"accordion-group \"><div class=\"accordion-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle backcolorhover \" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-13\" href=\"#accordion-213\"><i class=\"\"><\/i> Course characteristics<\/a><\/div><div id=\"accordion-213\" class=\"accordion-body collapse \"><div class=\"accordion-inner\">\n<ul>\n<li>Course content, including grammar and vocabulary, will be in line with a designated <a title=\"Levels\" href=\"\/en\/levels\/\">level<\/a> of Cambridge or Trinity English exams.<\/li>\n<li>At the start, participating students will complete a needs analysis to determine the correct level.<\/li>\n<li>Groups have a maximum of 12 students.<\/li>\n<li>Students do not complete exams but rather, create a portfolio of work throughout the course.<\/li>\n<li>In June, we offer the chance to take the <a href=\"\/exams\/trinity-english\/?lang=en\">Trinity GESE exam<\/a> to certify students#8217; level of spoken English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"accordion-group \"><div class=\"accordion-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle backcolorhover \" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-13\" href=\"#accordion-313\"><i class=\"\"><\/i> Methodology<\/a><\/div><div id=\"accordion-313\" class=\"accordion-body collapse \"><div class=\"accordion-inner\">\n<p>Classes are focused on speaking and listening comprehension on common real-life topics that students might encounter outside of school currently or in the future. Students also practice writing and reading comprehension.<\/p>\n<p>Our experience shows that for extracurricular English courses to be successful they should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have motivated teachers who are experienced working with young students.<\/li>\n<li>Be focused on spoken communication.<\/li>\n<li>Consist of regular classes completed over an extended period of time.<\/li>\n<li>Include open and regular communication between the school, the language teachers and the parents.<\/li>\n<li>Have small groups, ideally of 8 to 12 students.<\/li>\n<li>Include a committment on the part of students to practice English outside of the classroom, for example, watching television, reading books or magazines or listening to music.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"accordion-group \"><div class=\"accordion-heading\"><a class=\"accordion-toggle backcolorhover \" data-toggle=\"collapse\" data-parent=\"#accordion-13\" href=\"#accordion-413\"><i class=\"\"><\/i> OH Connect - Our Online Portfolio<\/a><\/div><div id=\"accordion-413\" class=\"accordion-body collapse \"><div class=\"accordion-inner\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/ohconnect.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-32429\" src=\"https:\/\/oxfordhousebcn.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/OHConnectCapture.jpg\" alt=\"zona-joven\" width=\"270\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>OH Connect is on online tool that enhances communication between our teachers, the children and teens taking our English courses and their parents. Our courses are focused on students&#8217; needs, taking into account their level and objectives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Children and teens who complete out courses have an opportunity to take <a title=\"About Cambridge ESOL\" href=\"\/en\/exams\/cambridge-english-fce-cae-cpe\/\">Cambridge<\/a> or <a title=\"Trinity GESE English exams\" href=\"\/en\/exams\/trinity-english-exams\/\">Trinity English exams<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Additionally, our school is a training centre for English teachers.
