Who wouldn\u2019t want to experience American college life? But it\u2019s more than just <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><strong>keg<\/strong><\/em><\/span> parties, if you\u2019re looking for a world-class education, the US could be the place for you. There are over 4000 universities for you to choose from. Five of which are in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.topuniversities.com\/university-rankings\/world-university-rankings\/2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">top ten in the world!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #2d346f;\"><strong>How to move to the US<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">Citizens of Spain who want to move to the States must first gain legal permission. This all depends on how long you want to stay and the path you want to take. Before you can start packing your bags, you\u2019ll need to get all your documents in order and make sure you have the correct visa. Let\u2019s take a look at some of your options.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #616a6b;\"><strong>1. Sponsorship by an employer<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">One of the ways to get permission is if an employer from the US can sponsor you. They will have to prove that there is no other person who is qualified or <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><strong>willing<\/strong><\/em><\/span> to do the job and show their financial abilities to pay you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/i-140\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(Form I-140)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">The employer completes the process for you, and once you obtain permission, it will <strong>allow you to stay permanently<\/strong> in the US. This status is called a <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><strong>green card<\/strong><\/em><\/span>. The process <a href=\"https:\/\/visaguide.world\/us-visa\/green-card\/processing-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">can take between 7 and 33 months<\/a>, depending on your status.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/travel\/en\/us-visas\/immigrate\/employment-based-immigrant-visas.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Read more here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #616a6b;\"><strong>2. Temporary worker visas<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">A Non-immigrant visa is a <strong>temporary visa<\/strong> that allows you to work in the US for a specific amount of time. Once the visa expires, however, you must leave the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">There are many different types of work visas. They include one for people who work in a specialised field such as law, architecture, medicine, finance and business &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/visaguide.world\/us-visa\/nonimmigrant\/employment\/h1b\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">H1<\/a>. And another for people with extraordinary ability in the arts, sport and entertainment &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/visaguide.world\/us-visa\/nonimmigrant\/employment\/p1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">P1<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">Before you apply for your US work visa, your future employer must file a Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker with USCIS <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscis.gov\/i-129\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(I-129 form)<\/a>. This is the most important document to get your work visa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/travel\/en\/us-visas\/employment\/temporary-worker-visas.html\">Read more here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #616a6b;\"><strong>3. Student Visa<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">You need an <a href=\"https:\/\/visaguide.world\/us-visa\/nonimmigrant\/study-exchange-visas\/f1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">F1<\/a> student visa if you want to attend an American institution. This includes high school on a foreign exchange or going to university as an international student.<em>*<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">First, you must apply and get an offer from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ice.gov\/sevis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Student Exchange Visitor Program<\/a> (SEVP), and then you can apply for the F1 visa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">The Exchange Visitor Visa category also includes the role of au pair, camp counsellor, <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><strong>intern<\/strong><\/em><\/span> and teacher. For this, you will need a <a href=\"https:\/\/visaguide.world\/us-visa\/nonimmigrant\/study-exchange-visas\/j1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">J1<\/a> visa, and you must have health insurance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\"><em>*Note for the Student Visa, you must be proficient in English, more about this below.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/travel\/en\/us-visas\/study.html\">Read more here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #616a6b;\"><strong>4. Tourist Visa<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">With a tourist visa, you can only stay in the US for <strong>six months<\/strong>. You cannot look for work, but this could be a great opportunity to travel around and <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><strong>brush up on<\/strong><\/em><\/span> your English at the same time. For this you will need the <a href=\"https:\/\/visaguide.world\/us-visa\/nonimmigrant\/visitor\/b2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">B2<\/a> tourist visa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/travel.state.gov\/content\/travel\/en\/us-visas\/tourism-visit\/visitor.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Read more here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">Make sure you allow plenty of time to submit your visa application &#8211; at least a few months in advance!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #2d346f;\"><strong>What you need to do to get your visa<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">For most of these visa applications here\u2019s what you\u2019ll need to do:<\/p>\n<div class=\"list_styles\"><ul class=''>\n<span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i>Complete the DS1-60 application form<\/li><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i>Pay the application fee<\/li><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i>Pay the SEVIS I-901 (if you are a student)<\/li><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i>Schedule a visa interview<\/li><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i>Prepare your documents (passports, copy of forms etc.)<\/li><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i>Attend the interview<\/li><\/span>\n<\/ul><\/div><div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #2d346f;\"><strong>English Language Requirements<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">As a legal requirement, international students must prove their English language ability, and that they are able to speak and understand English. Two of the most common ways to do this are by taking the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ets.org\/toefl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">TOEFL<\/a> or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ielts.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IELTS<\/a>.
