You\u2019ll be given 60 minutes to answer 40 questions, so it\u2019s best to dedicate 20 minutes to each text.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 15px;\">There are 11 types of questions in total. First, take your time and get familiar with the different types of questions. Remember to also analyse why you make mistakes. When you\u2019re more comfortable and exam day starts <em><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>looming<\/strong><\/span><\/em> closer, then it\u2019s time to start timing yourself! <\/li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i><strong>Transfer your answers very carefully<\/strong>. During the exam you can write on your exam paper; however, be sure that when transferring your answers to the answer sheet, you don\u2019t make any spelling mistakes as you won\u2019t get any points!<\/li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i><strong>Never leave a single answer blank<\/strong>. You will never lose points in the IELTS exam for incorrect answers. So if you don\u2019t know the answer to something, just have a guess!<\/li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i><strong>Don\u2019t expect to understand every word<\/strong>. There are words in the texts that even native English speakers don\u2019t know to try and <em><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>catch you out<\/strong><\/span><\/em>! Just remember to stay focused on the questions.<\/li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i><strong>Read the task instructions carefully<\/strong>. For example, be sure to check that the question doesn\u2019t ask for something like \u2018two words and a number\u2019. If you ignore this and write \u20182 cars\u2019 as your answer, instead of  \u20182 red cars\u2019, it will be marked as incorrect.<\/li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i><strong>Look out for synonyms and paraphrasing<\/strong>. It\u2019s very rare that the exam will give you the exact same wording or vocabulary in the questions as it does in the text. Usually these are traps, so watch out!<\/li>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\"><li><i class='icon-ok'><\/i><strong>Don\u2019t bring your outside knowledge of the topic into the exam<\/strong>.
