How big are the classes?

There is a maximum of 10 students per group. This ensures that the teacher is able to give you all the support you need while still maintaining social distancing measures.

In order to form the group we require a minimum of 5 students.

Will the classes be at the right level for me?

Yes, groups are divided by levels according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). That means you’ll be studying with people of a similar level to you – and you shouldn’t ever feel too far ahead or behind.

We have the following levels available on our Spanish Plus courses:

  • A1 (beginner)
  • A1-B (beginner +)
  • A2 (elementary)
  • B1 (intermediate)
  • B2 (upper-intermediate)
  • C1 (advanced)

During the course, your teacher will keep a close eye on your progress. If they believe the material is too easy or too difficult they will recommend you change levels.

To find out what level you are, take our online level test.

How long does it take to move to the next level?

This varies from student to student. Bear in mind that on average it takes between 90 and 200 contact hours to advance one level in the CEFR. This does not include the time required to do homework and practice outside of class.

In order to make sure everyone is progressing at a suitable pace the teachers will carry out continuous assessment and evaluation throughout the course.

For more information visit our level guide.

Do I need to buy a coursebook?

If you’re a beginner-level student (levels A1 and A1B), you’ll work from a coursebook and you will be able to buy it at the school reception. For higher levels, all the classroom materials will be supplied by your teacher.
