We don’t know when we will be able to continue with our face-to-face classes, but, we don’t want that to stop you learning English or Spanish.
That’s why 100% of our courses will continue to take place online, until further notice.
What’s it like to study online with Oxford House?
While the method of delivery may have changed, the classes will follow the same format as always. So whether you are looking to improve your general English or Spanish, or need to prepare for an official exam, you will still have the same qualified, dynamic teachers.
In order to do this, we use three main platforms: Telegram, Zoom and OH Connect.
The class format
The lessons are organised using the class Telegram group. Similar to Whatsapp, it allows the teacher to send messages, voice recordings, links, documents and photographs.
The lesson then takes place on Zoom, a video conferencing platform. You’ll be able to see and speak to your teacher and your classmates. The teacher may use the interactive whiteboard or screen sharing tools to provide you with the lesson materials. Or they may send you links, exercises or shared documents using the chat function. You’ll also be able to complete exercises in your coursebooks, while your teacher gives feedback, just like in a real class.
Each class will have plenty of opportunities to speak in small groups or pairs using the breakout rooms where the teacher will be able to join, monitor and take notes while you complete the activities. You’ll be able to ask your teacher for help at any time using the private or public chatbox, too.
At the end of the lesson, the teacher will post a record of what you did in the class using the OH Connect group. This allows you to check the homework or catch up if you were unable to attend.
