Summer is here! And more than ever, we’re in need of a bit of sunshine. But with travel restrictions still in place, many of us are deciding to stay local this year. It doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom though. This could be the perfect opportunity to have an adventure closer to home – and what could be more adventurous than immersing yourself in a new language?

You’re in luck! At Oxford House we have lots of courses to brighten up your summer, and we understand that everyone’s situation is different, so that’s why we’re offering more options and more flexibility. That’s right! This year you can choose from either online or face-to-face to classes for all of our summer courses, so you’ll be sure to find something that suits you.

General English – Intensive and Super Intensive

 

Intensive

Looking for a real language injection? Our intensive summer course is for those who take their English seriously. You can either sign up for 2 weeks (24 hours of class), or if you really want to push yourself, 4 weeks (48 hours of class) and complete half a level in one month. Both options provide a good grounding in the language, and we promise you’ll leave with a love of English.

Classes are Monday through Thursday for 3 hours a day and you can study in the morning, afternoon or evening.

Super Intensive

Ready to really throw yourself in at the deep end? Our super intensive course offers 100 hours of full immersion in just four weeks. Not only will your English gain a real boost, you’ll also complete a whole level in a month. This makes it perfect for those who want to stand out in their professional or academic life, and fast!

Classes are Monday through Friday for 5 hours a day and you can study in the morning or afternoon/evening.

What to know

  • Both our intensive and super intensive courses are offered throughout July, August and September so you can continue right through the summer to make the most of the holidays.
  • Guaranteed small class sizes. Both courses have classes of up to 8 students to ensure maximum speaking time.
  • Study face-to-face or online. The choice is yours!
  • You can study for 2 or 4 weeks depending on your availability.
  • Don’t know your level? We’ve got you! We have intensive and super intensive courses at every level from A1 – C2. We’ll help place you in the right one and get you on the road to success.
 

Cambridge Summer Intensive

 

No need to wait until the beginning of the academic year to get your Cambridge certificate. Yes. You heard! In just a short time, you can achieve your goal. These courses are perfect for those who may have lots of study or work commitments throughout the year and want to get a jump-start on their Cambridge English preparation.

We have courses for all the official exams – B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE) and the C2 Proficiency (CPE) and offer courses throughout July, August and September.

Classes are Monday through Thursday for 2.5 hours a day and you can study in the morning, afternoon or evening.

  • Complete 20 hours with our 2 week course, or do 40 hours in 4 weeks.
  • Maximum classes sizes of 8 students per group to guarantee your teacher’s time and attention.

IELTS Summer Intensive

 

Do you have a dream of studying in Australia? How about living in Canada? Well, start planning your future study abroad experience this year and prepare yourself with an IELTS summer intensive.

Our one month courses are great for those who are looking to take the IELTS Academic exam. Classes are led by our team of experienced professionals, and are designed with your needs in mind.

Classes are Monday through Thursday for 2.5 hours a day and you can study in the morning or evening.

Online or face-to-face classes

 

After the success of moving our classes online, and to reflect the wishes of our students – we’ve decided to offer online summer intensives. These will occur in addition to our regular in-school classes, and this means you can pick the learning style that suits you best.

In-centre covid measures

 

For those who prefer to get back in the classroom – we want to reassure you that we have implemented a number of Covid-19 measures to keep you safe and well. This includes:

  • Socially distanced seating.
  • Hand sanitizer readily available.
  • High contact surfaces regularly cleaned.
  • Small class sizes.
  • Fewer groups at each timetable.
